The issue with all of these solutions as that none of them are in the command zone where Nadu is. Furthermore having to buuld a deck to stop an opponent from winning then asks the question of how does your deck win? Its why the argument "Just run more removal" is stuoid because then you detract from your own decks ability to win and thus the problematic deck is already winning because it has forced other decks to build around it. We need a EDH banlist update and the for the team who runs the banlist to actually have Cedh players on it because some of the Banlist cards are not nearly as bad as some of the cards legal. Coalition Victory isn't nearly as powerful as Thoracle and yet here we are.

I wonder if countering the 1st and 2nd most commonly played cards in a game of commander is good enough... yeah I think it's an all star in anything but blue white x or blue black x. It stops commanders for 1 mana, stops crazy ramp strats for 1 mana and stops thoracle combo for 1 mana. I think that's good enough

I think Hydroelectic Specimen you're wrong on, I think it's a 3 atleast, Sink a 4-5. It and Sink into Stupor MUCH better than the other colored ones and are auto include in 2 color imo. It doesn't really matter what the text says, a land that can pitch for FOW, FON and Chrome Mox I think is just really good. 3 mana decks, it's gets kind of difficult, but I instantly put both into my Izzet Stella Lee and in every 2 color blue deck I will immediately include it for sure.

Glad to see great minds think alike. I've been in love with grim servant lately. First tutor finds ephemerate, and then those find dark ritual, vamp tutor. Tutor before the draw for saw in half. Use dark ritual to cast Saw in half. Two tutors for 2 drops, finds dockside and cthonian nightmare. Also if you're in reanimator. You can just find entomb reanimate for a razaketh or something

It's a kill on site in both commander and modern. Correct me if im wrong but it had one of if not the most dominant showings in the pro tour mh3 with 5 of the top 8 decks being some form of nadu (mostly Bant) and something like a 59% win rate over the event

For testing cards, just set it to the side, sbuffle the deck, toss it in the top 10 cards or in your starting hand. This way the card can be tested in opening versus after mana ramp / initial openings and interactions. Should save you a ton of games. For my question, getting back into Magic and trying to learn how to be more competive, how do you increase opening hand consistency? Either drawing 2 lands then no lands for the next 10 cards, etc or 5 land hands then never draw an engine to draw out of it. Etc. Is it just tuning and hoping because I feel like my decks are close. Thanks for the content!

I'm very confident that Scry lands are essentially just as relevant in Nadu as Surviels are. Your probably not running a ton of graveyard recursion in Nadu outside of land recursion so that aspect is at worst a downside now because if you dont have land recursion in play it might be a tough call on burying a land to dig for pieces to combo out and even though being able to fetch the Surviel land is definitely nice im willing to bet more often then not your fetching non-tapped lands so drawing into your scry land is fine. I find magic players often forget that a cards percieved power inside a bubble dosent always translate to the real world and that a cards effectiveness or power level changes on a per deck basis. I'm willing to bet if you could sim out a 1000 games with the Surviel land and a 1000 with the Scry land you would have identical or near identical results that would negate any perceived benefits of the Surviel land.

I love playing miriiam and sneak attack. Getting copies that stick of dragons for 1 red mana is super fun. Paired with dragon tempest or scourge or terror is nasty

I tried vannifar once and sorry to the people who are working on the deck but I didn’t have a great time with the deck, I’m sure that I made some mistakes but also that there are a lot of pieces in the format that stop it from doing anything.
